ARTIST STATEMENT
Language doesn’t simply describe nations. It helps shape them.
Spoken State rebuilds national flags, word by word, from historic speeches and declarations—from Ireland’s 1916 Proclamation to Gandhi’s call for independence.
Each work is meticulously drawn and painted by hand. At distance: flags. Close up: the words that made them.
